LEAGUE RULES
SCHEDULES/LEAGUE FORMAT/PLAYOFF PROCEDURES/AWARDS
LEAGUE STANDINGS:
1. League standings will be based on win/loss record.
Tie Breaker Rules:
A. Point Differential: Should teams split the season series, then the team with combined score differential in their meetings will be awarded the playoff spot. The team that allowed the fewest points for the season wins the differential.
B. Head to Head Competition.
C. Playoffs: All teams in the division are eligible in the playoffs.
ELIGIBILITY OF TEAMS
1. Each team may carry a maximum of ten (10) players. Only players who have signed and completed the player roster with the Ballerszone Administration will be considered eligible to play. A non-playing manager/captain must sign the player roster.
2. An initial payment of $150 must be given on or before first/second game. CASH and CHECKS payable to CASH with team name on memo will be accepted. League fee must be completed by 4th game. Failure to complete balances will result in your team not being scheduled or completely dropped from the league with no refund. Each team must pay referee fee before each game $35. CASH ONLY will be accepted.
ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS
1. All players registered for the league must be at least 18 years old
2. All players MUST have signed the League’s Waiver Form before first scheduled game.
3. Managers must submit a roster before their first game. Teams are able to add players throughout the season with the Valley Hoops committee’s approval, however he/she must played a minimum of 4 games. Only players who are in the original line up are eligible in the playoffs regardless of the number games they played. *** No other exceptions. Be sure to submit a lineup of present players at a game when there is a forfeit involved. It is the team manager/captain’s responsibility to submit a lineup of players for each game.
4. All players must conform to the Code of Conduct. The League Director reserves the right to impose penalties and sanctions as seen fit for the overall good of the league, the officials and the City.
5. A player may NOT play for more than one team per division. Players cannot trade or move to another team after the 4th game. Once a player is traded or plays for another team within the first 4 games, that player will NOT be allowed to go back from his original team.
6. UNIFORMS:
Teams must have matching uniforms by 4th game. Teams will be penalized an automatic 2pts for 1st player with mismatched uniform and 1pt for each succeeding player. Matching jersey definition will be left up to the discretion of the League Director, referees or gym scorekeeper
- No player shall be allowed to play in the playoffs without the proper team uniform.
PLAYOFFS ELIGIBILITY
All evaluations are completed. You are now requires to submit your Final Roster on your 6th game.
Only players that are on the submitted roster are eligible to play both regular and playoffs. Filler will not be allowed as it can affect the team standings thus affecting playoff positioning and eligibility. If you fail to submit your roster all players will be subjected to the 4 game regular seasons to be eligible. Additionally all the teams that were allowed to add player, the added players must play the minimum required 2 games for evaluation unless Valley Hoops are aware of their skill sets.
Just play hard. Valley hoops will take all the necessary steps to ensure every player meet the requirements. Furthermore league fees are part of the eligibility rules. Please settle them ASAP to avoid defaults
RULES
Official High School Basketball Rules shall cover all game situations including the following:
1. Teams must start and finish a game with a minimum of four (4) players.
2. Any disrespect shown to an official will result in a technical or an automatic game ejection depending on the severity of disrespect displayed. Any technical due to poor behavior will be automatically benched for 2 minutes. Those 2 minutes maybe carried over into the 2nd half if there isn't enough time in the 1st half. Any player ejected from a game for disciplinary reasons will be suspended for the next scheduled and fined $5. The player cannot return unless that $5 fine is paid. Repeated offenses will result in that player being suspended from the league indefinitely.
3. Any player who commits his 6th foul is automatically disqualified from further play for that game. He may not under any circumstances remain in the game.
4. Players receiving two technical fouls during a game will be ejected from such game. This will result in a first and only warning to the player. The second time a player is ejected from a game it will result in a one game suspension from their next scheduled game. If a player is ejected from a game due to behavioral problems (altercation with another player), that player is suspended for the next 2 scheduled games. This is your warning. Also, the Ballerszone Board may suspend/banned the player for all Valley Hoops League, if the situation dictates.
5. TWO (2) half of 20minutes running time will be played each game, except for the last two minutes of the second half IF there is a deficit of 10 points and below in which a 30 second shot clock will be implemented. ***1 time out is allotted per quarter. Only the 3rd quarter time out, if unused, may be carried over into the fourth quarter.
6. Tied games will be decided immediately in a two-minute STOPPED CLOCK overtime period. All overtime periods will be played as follows:
A. Each team will be awarded one timeout per overtime period. There will be no carrying over of timeouts. A team may advance the ball to half court after a timeout is called on a dead ball or made basket within the last 2 minutes.
B. SUDDEN DEATH: The Third overtime will be played until one team scored the first point/s which will be declared the winner.
7. If a player is shooting the ball outside the three-point arc and is fouled, the player will be awarded three free throws.
8. Teams will shoot two free shots on the fifth foul per quarter. (FIBA rules)
9. Time Outs: Each team may call (4) time outs per game. First (2) time out cannot be carry over, if unused into the second half.
Each team may call up to 4 time outs per game. Only 2 time outs can be used in the second half.A team typically uses 2 time outs in the first half and uses the remaining 2 in the second half of play.
All and any unused
time outs in the first half can not be carried over to the second half of the game
10. Officials will have the option of stopping and forfeiting a game if it gets out of control.
12. No dunking during warm ups.
13. Technical Foul: 2 shots plus ball out.

"WE WANT THE HIGHER COMPETITION”
With that said we will be enforcing the 3 games rule for every player on every team’s roster.
Additionally WE WILL REQUIRE everyone to lock in their roster by the 6th game.
3 Game Playoff Eligibility Rule
The 3 game eligibility rule is implemented to provide structure and starting ground in which the league are able to sustain and support the competitive aspect of the league. It is the captains responsibility to ensure that integrity is of "high priority" when signing players name on the waiver and roster before the game. In fact we encourage that all players sign their names on the roster for accuracy. Ballerszone will not tolerate any blatant display of any behaviors to discredit the leagues integrity related to the playoff eligibility rules and fair competition play. Valley Hoops will also take extreme measures and appropriate action to correct and or rectify such acts up to and including disqualification from the league.
EVALUATION (FAIR COMPETITION PLAY)
Each team will be evaluated by the commissioners in the first 4 games to allow the team to either add or omit players from the roster
Every player must play a minimum of 2 games in the first 4 games to be evaluated.
Each team can and will also be evaluated as a whole with regards to overall skill level.
PROTEST
Opposing team can protest for any reason, but in order for the Valley Hops Commissioners to honor any protest teams must do it before the game.
Protest after the game will not be honor at all (no exceptions)

FORFEITS
1. A 10-minute grace period will be implemented for at least 4 players on each team to show up on game time.
2. A team shall be fined $100 when they forfeit a game, payable before the teams next scheduled game. Failure to pay fee will result in forfeiture of all games until the fee is paid.
3. A team forfeiting two or more games becomes subject to being dropped from the league with no refund given.
4. Any team that sees a conflict with their scheduled game may request to be rescheduled for a different time slot. It is not guaranteed that schedule can be changed.
5. No postponement of scheduled league games shall be allowed. The League Director may only make any necessary changes in the schedule to conform to facility use.
6. Forfeits may be declared by the League Director or designee for any of the following reasons:
A. Failure to appear at the scheduled game time with at least four (4) eligible suited players.
B. Using an ineligible player, if called to the attention of the League Director before team plays next regularly scheduled game.
C. Unsportsmanlike conduct.
D. If, in the opinion of the officials, the manager/captain does not have control of his team.
E. Harassment of officials, scorekeepers, gym attendants, or City employees.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
1. The running summary of the scorebook shall be the official score at any and all times throughout the game regardless of the score indicated on the electronic scoreboard.
2. Persons or players participating in any activities sponsored by Ballerszone are NOT covered in any way for personal liability,
Property damage or accidental injury.
AWARDS
1. Team awards will be given to league CHAMPION.
2. League CHAMPION will receive up to Ten (10) T-shirts, 1 Finals MVP and Team Trophy.
USE OF GYMS
It is the Manager/Captain’s responsibility to enforce the following rules and to let all team members know of them:
1. No smoking in all areas of the buildings including parking lot.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES allowed in gym or parking lot.
2. Park in designated areas only
MANAGER/CAPTAIN’S RESPONSIBILITIES
The manager/captain of each team, or their designated representative, will be responsible for all of the following duties for the basketball season. The manager/captain is responsible for:
1. Submitting team roster application and signatures, addresses, for each player on the roster who will be playing any games filled out completely, accurately and legibly as well as signed by the player.
2. Being sure the roster is kept up-to-date with all active players.
3. Submitting a lineup card to the scorekeeper at least 10 minutes before game time.
4. Keeping all players and spectators in control as it relates to code of conduct, including any verbal or physical harassment to any person present at the field.
5. Enforcing the alcoholic beverage policies at the games.
6. Apprising the League Director of any problems or complaints.
7. Knowing the league rules and Ballerszone code of conduct and informing all players of their guidelines.
