2007: All-Star Game a Success

Perfect weather and spirited competition made for a great evening at this year's 2007 All-Star game on June 30th as the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League (MCBL) All-Star squad took on the Clark Griffith League (CGL) All-Stars at Waters Field in Vienna, Virginia.
CGL hosted a wonderful event complete with programs, statistic sheets for the scouts, catering by Famous Dave's Barbeque and a live broadcast of the game over the Internet. Souvenier programs and commemorative bats were also provided to each of the All-Star players.
The stands were full with fans as they watched the Home Run Derby and the 9 inning contest. MCBL's pitchers tried to keep the game close with 9 strikeouts as the MCBL hitters struggled at the plate with only 5 hits. CGL eventually broke the game open the 3-2 game with 5 consecutive hits enroute to a 10-2 victory over the MCBL squad.
The MCBL wishes to congratulate all the players on their recognition for being selected to this year's squad and looks forward to hosting the 2008 All-Star game.
