The 2016 MCBL post season tournament is rolling along.
It started last Saturday with a slugfest as #6 seed Putty Hill Panthers outlasted #3 seed BCC Big Train Stars 15-12. The 27 combined runs was a new record for most runs in a single post season game.
Also on Saturday, the Diamond Pros beat the Baltimore Rays in a classic pitcher's duel. The Pros only managed 2 hits but won 2-1. The 3 combined runs was a new record for the fewest runs in a single post season game.
Sunday saw the #1 seed KOA Sports Green Wave beat Putty Hill 6-1 and #2 seed Baltimore Chop beat the Diamond Pros 9-6.
Monday, mother nature couldn't stop the tournament as the Diamond Pros sent Putty Hill Panthers home in an elimination game winning their second game of the tournament 2-1. The other game featured a classic winners bracket struggle as #2 Baltimore Chop overcame a mysterious 20 minute light delay (similar to the Ravens Super Bowl) and beat #1 KOA Sports Green Wave 4-2.
Tuesday, KOA will host the Pros in an elimination game. The winner will face the Baltimore Chop in a best 2 out of 3 series for the MCBL 2016 Tournament Championship.
See ya at the ballfield!
