Fantastic Finish

In a classic, tense pitcher's dual that featured 25 strikeouts, with the game going down to the very last pitch........the Baltimore Chop won the 2023 MCBL Postseason Tournament 1-0 over the Rockville Express.

 

Rockville's Devin Sheeran and Daerek Sawyer combined to keep the Chop hitters off balance issuing only one walk. They were supported by solid defense including a great play by second baseman Brady Goyne.

 

The Baltimore Chop's Shawn Rosemond and Todd Hendrix answered by allowing only four hits.  They were also supported by solid defense all over including stellar play by third baseman Josh Barke, shortstop Matt Perlin and first baseman Logan Scully.  Centerfielder Roman March made a great diving catch in the outfield.

 

In the end, the Chop's Andrew Kell picked a great time to hit his first home run of the season.....scoring the only run of the entire game in the fifth inning.

 

Kudos to the Rockville Express for a fine season and a great tournament run.

 

Congratulations to the Baltimore Chop for winning their fourth MCBL Postseason Tournament (tying them with the Putty Hill Panthers for the most in MCBL history).  They also enjoy their third "McDouble" (regular season and postseason championships in the same year)......most in MCBL history.

 

The boys of summer sure didn't dissapoint!!!
