RULES:
1. Home Team -- All games that are rained out, canceled or forfeited must contact Denny Bergamasco by 5:00-5:30 for that decision. Home teams are responsible for recording scores to the commisioners whether they win or loose.
2 .Number of Players. A team must have 8 players to begin a game. Teams may bat any number of players.
3. Forfeit. Forfeit time is 15 minutes after scheduled game start time.
4. Starting Count. For 9 inning games, the batter starts with a 0/0 count; for a 7 inning game, the batter starts with a 1/1 count. There is NO grace foul for either 9 or 7 inning games.
5.Mercy Rules. There will be two “run limit” game ending situations for both 9 and 7 inning games
9 inning games:
- Team up by 15 runs after 5 completed innings; or
- Team up by 10 runs after 7 completed innings
7 inning games:
- Team up by 15 runs after 4 completed innings; or
- Team up by 10 runs after 5 completed innings
6. Players. All players must be at least 16 years old, and may be male or femal. If teams have a young man or woman below the age of 16 please make sure they are physically capable of competing safely at an adult level.
7. Pitching. Pitching arc is 6-12 feet. Pitcher’s mound is 53 feet from the plate. Pitchers may pitch as far back as desired or until they reach 2nd base.
8. Home Run Rule. All fields will abide by the home run limit .Each team must hit 3 HRs equally before another team can hit a fourth. If both teams don't equally reach 3 HRs the team that used their 3 every HR after will be ruled an out. This home run limit rule will also be used during our league tournaments.
9. Re-Entry. Any player may be substituted for or replaced and then subsequently re- entered in the game one time, providing that when the player re-enters the game, he or she shall occupy the same batting position whenever re-admitted in the lineup..
10. Extra Players. A team may bat any amount of players. However, you must play and finish the game with at least the number you started the game with, or that player’s position, whether that player be injured, ejected, voluntarily leaves the game, etc, in the batting order, is an out if there is no one to replace him. Any batting order substitutions have to be announced; however, defensive positions can change without notice and as many times as desired. Late arriving players will be added if desired to the end of the batting order.
11. Courtesy Runners. Up to 2 players who need courtesy runners may be utilized. They must be announced prior to the start of the game. If there is the need for others, it must be agreed upon by both teams. An additional courtesy runner may be utilized for a player inured during the course of the game. The LAST BATTED OUT player will serve as the courtesy runner for the non running player.
12. Foul Language. In an effort to maintain a clean, Christian family environment, any player using foul language will receive one warning. If an already warned player repeats the offense within the same game, he will be automatically ejected from the game..
13. Drinking Absolutly no drinking before/during the game while at the fields
14. Home Safety Base We will be using a second home plate safety base. Meaning home team will mark a 30' commit line from front of main home plate (scribe a noticiple drag line, paint a line, chaulk a line ect.) This is a runner commit line once runner is past this line runner is commited to go home to the outside (2nd) home plate if there is a play at home catcher will play the ball at the main original home plate. If runner makes it to his base(2nd Plate) before the ball reaches main plate the runner is safe. This is all to avoid collisions at home between catcher and runner.
15. Geezer Rule. if there is any player thats not caplable to play due to injury or disability we dont want to discourage anyone from participating as well as making sure teams have enough players to play game. The "Geezer" will play on defense and not bat (as a result he will not be an out in the batting order)
