Randy,

Excellent job last night, you guys cover your area better than any other source in the country. If there were more sites like yours my job would be a whole lot easier. –T Gold / Perfect Game USA

Randy,

Good Monday morning.  First off, I just want to say how much I appreciate all the work you do to support and promote Houston High School baseball.  I was just recently turned on to your site and I look forward to using it as a resource during the coming season (it didn’t take me long to subscribe!). Again, thanks for all your work on this site and I can’t wait for the high school season to begin.

Randy,

Thanks for broadcasting the TASO Championship game. This is the second time my son has represented TWHS there and the second time I have been overseas during the game. I was able to listen to your broadcast “live” from Berlin, Germany and saw his triple on YouTube. Thanks for your support of Houston HS baseball.

Hello Local Baseball Community,

Houston 5A Baseball is a very special site. Nothing like it in the country. It makes it fun to follow the local talent.

Just a few examples;

Ross Hales.the big lefty from Barbers Hill, now playing for the Aggies. His record last year (1st yr) going 6-2, striking out over 70 batters.

Jared Cozart of Creek now in the Phillies organization.

Greg Alcazar of Galveston O "Connel, then 2 yrs at San Jac , now in his 1st year with A&M.

Shawn Blackwell of Creek now playing in the Rangers organization.

Andrew Beasley of Friendswood now playing for San Jac.

Bobby Loveless of Friendswood now playing for SFA

It was "pure fun" following these young men  through this site over the last several years.

This site has been an invaluable tool for players and coaches since its inception. It has helped in the recruiting process for numerous players over the years. It has helped publicize the game in our area to measures previously unreached. It has supplanted our local newspaper as THE PLACE to go for news, updates and features on all things HS baseball in and around the city of Houston.

------------------

I can state for a fact that I personally know kids who have received congratulations from college coaches for their selection to H5AB pre-season and post season all Houston area teams. That being said, it's pretty obvious that college coaches look to this site for information on local players that they may not be familiar with. Not every kid that has the ability to play college ball is a well known blue chipper. Anybody can find out about the top 10 or 20 kids in the area. It's the other 200 or so that need the attention. This site helps in that respect more than anything.

Randy,

I have followed your website religiously for the last 7 years, while I had 2 sons in the game.  I want to Thank You for keeping it going and for all of the improvements you have made to the site over the years.  It truly is a great information resource as well is good ole fashion entertainment.  The looks on kids faces that make the Front Page of Houston 5A is really priceless.  When they make it, like my son was fortunate to do a couple of times this season, they really feel they have made to the "Big Time".

Randy,

In response to your “A Note To All Seniors” may I sat that you are a “Class Act” and so is your website “Houston 5A Baseball.” You have meant more to baseball in and around the Houston area that most folks realize. Your reports on all of the players and teams have given Houston insight to other teams and district goings on for many years. I applaud the work you have done and thanks from all of the parents that have seniors and what your words mean as this season is winding down.

--------------
Randy, I Just read the piece you posted on your website and would like to thank you for recognizing our team. As you know there are a number of "posters" from our community and we all enjoy your website. Again, thank you for providing this needed service to the local baseball community.

Hi Randy ’ just emailing to thank you for the letter you wrote to the seniors who will not be participating in playoffs. What a terrific letter. Because at some point, every team will experience the end of the high school baseball season for good, I will save this letter and when it’s time, send it out to our team.

Thanks for all you do. I will truly miss the high school baseball experience. It has been one of the most consistent, pleasurable things about high school and though our family is fortunate enough to be able to experience college baseball, it just won’t be the same. Some of the college parents have even told me so.

Again, thank so you so much for all you do and I will continue to stay in touch.

-------------------------------------

Randy, thanks for all the hard work. As a father is it so gratifying to see your son's name up in lights. Thanks for that and all the other things you do.

The Real Deal H5AB.com

As my kid entered High School baseball i began looking for information about the area high school baseball teams. I found nothing from local media. NOTHING!

I found more use for the big area conglomerate mega paper at the end of a trip to the john than i did for area baseball news. SAD.

That is until i stumble across a web page called H5AB.com. Last fall i read about teams like Alvin, Ros Sterling, Lamar, and a few others that these guys believed would be around come play off time. Well, in the words of Gomer Pile - "Surprise, Surprise" - look around and see who's still in the picture. These guys do their homework. They know what they are talking about.

Overnight, i became a local high school baseball guru. What people were reading in the paper today, i had read a week prior on H5AB.com.

Thanks Randy and Lonnie for all your hard work. It work is appreciated.

You promote our game and you do it the right way. Thanks

Randy,

I just wanted to let you guys know what a great job you do covering high school baseball in the Houston area. If it wasn’t for your website and your obvious love of the game, there would be no other medium for baseball fans in the Houston area to track what’s going on in the city and the surrounding area on the high school baseball front.

---------------------------------

... I'm not the biggest (no size jokes, please) fan of '80's Big Hair Rock, but to quote the popular song, "you don't know what you've got, till it's gone."

I've read Randy's Final Friday message a few times over the past few years. But each time, I had at least one more son in a high school baseball program, one more year of chugging out to the ballpark to watch him play his heart out. Not this year.

This year, the oldest boy finishes his freshman year of college, and the younger of the pair graduates from high school and heads to college.

Perhaps that is why this is the first year I have read Randy's heartfelt Final Friday message through tear filled eyes.

To those of you who have incoming freshmen, advancing freshmen, sophomores or juniors, all I can tell you is to cherish each and every minute.. from the time the players reach the stadium on game day, to the minute they're trudging through the parking lot after the game is over. Odd as it may sound, I would not go through the experience again for all the money in the world, yet I would not trade our experiences during the past five years of high school baseball for all the money in the world.

Thank you Randy, for providing this web site that makes all of our high school baseball experiences a little richer, a little more fulfilling, and a lot more fun.

-------------------------------

I read Randy's "last Friday" blog on the Houston 5A website and I just wanted to say THANK YOU to him for all he does for the 5A website. As the mother of a senior over the years I have become the "baseball mom" from you-know-where ... trying to help the kid succeed, grow, etc. I have learned so very much from reading every tidbit I could on your website over the years. When we were playing with a lesser select team, I read and dug and found the mention of only certain select teams and realized we needed to set a new goal, and it was with great honor that he was able to play with the Houston Heat. They taught him so very much and helped him grow as a catcher. We are moving on to college soon and he will have the opportunity to play four more years of the sport he so loves. Thank you for being a mother's advisor (probably a role you had no clue you were doing). Your time spent and your love for the sport is greatly appreciated from all these young men and their parents.

------------------

Thank you for what you do! As a Langham Creek HS baseball fan, haven't been able to make the last few playoff games. I thought for sure there would be something online. You were the only one that had scores almost immediately after the game. The others seem to be a day or two behind. THANK YOU.
____

Randy,

It has been a great 4 years of high school baseball. I want to thank you for all of your support of all the kids in Greater Houston baseball.

Your website is not only an informational update of the area teams but it is a great part of the recruiting process. Many college coaches use your site to follow the progress of potential recruits. I know personally that many of the coaches that were talking to XXXXX mentioned information about him from your site.

Again, a big Thank You.

____

Dear Randy,

I want to thank-you for posting the pictures and story about our players on the 5A website. They look so big on the computer! My son and his friends actually shouted for joy when they saw they were listed on your website. That was a very classy thing for you to do and it is most appreciated! We didn’t expect it- and cherish it! Thank-you for one of the great moments of this season!
_____

Randy,

I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for all the hard work you put in for the kids. Having 5 boys in baseball and other sports, I enjoy being able to keep up with kids they have played with and against all of their lives. You also help promote a lot of kids who are not on the Elite lists for one reason or another.

Randy,

I just wanted to send you a note letting you know how excellent your web site is! There is nothing like it on the entire net. There are many pretenders popping up here and there but you guys set the STANDARD. Just look around at all the others, they have your forum ideas, your features. Once an idea hits your message boards, you’ll find it scattered throughout the web on various sites the next day. For example, I noticed you guys put up a tournament bracket forum and wouldn’t you know it, the next day a new national site does the same. Thank you for such an excellent site and yes, my check is in the mail!

A personal note to Randy and the H5AB community

I just want to take this opportunity to say many thanks to Randy and the entire H5AB community. The past 5 years has been a blast working with this web site. Unfortunately I will be relocating back to my home town in central Ohio do to personal reasons but would be remiss if I didn't give credit where credit is due. I must express to the baseball community here in Houston what a gem you have in Randy. I have never met anyone with his passion for your game. He is the most dedicated individual I know in promoting this game and the players, coaches, and all involved. The baseball community will never be the same now that H5AB is here. In parting I ask only one more thing from the Houston Baseball Community, please do whatever is necessary to keep this wonderful web site going. There really is no other of it's kind in the entire Nation. So here I go, Thank you Randy, thank you Bobby, my daughter CC, and Rick and all of you I met along the way. I will miss each and every one of you more than you will ever know.

______

Dear Mr. Byers,

I wanted to give you a quick thank you for the work you do in uniting the baseball community. As a father, I know that we all pour a lot of our own resources into introducing our boys and their classmates to this wonderful game. We help them learn the skills and "play the game right" almost as if we are passing on a craft. Your efforts in uniting strangers via the internet goes one more step in introducing the boys to all of the available opportunities that exist beyond high school ball.

_____

Randy,

Thank you for all the support! You and H5AB are a blessing to the Greater Houston Area! We will always support H5AB. What you provide for us all, game summaries, HS Baseball, Summer Baseball, College Baseball, pictures, information, updates, websites, links, on and on is so appreciated!!

______

Randy,

We want to thank you for what you do for the Greater Houston Area. There is not a better source for up to date accurate information. The fans, players and parents are blessed to have this available and should never take it for granted. The time you dedicate to the Greater Houston Area baseball community is unbelievable and is very appreciated!

Hey Randy I am a player who graduated last year. Thanks for everything that you do and I know as a former player that the players love it. It’s really is nice seeing your team recognized.

_____

Randy,
Great site. I've really enjoyed it since I found it a few weeks ago. I noticed the pictures you took at the game on Saturday. Excellent job.

Thanks so much for your efforts. Keep up the good work as a lot of players are benefitting.

Randy:
I want to let you know how much I've appreciated what you have done for my boys and the nice compliments that you have shown. You have "The" PREMIER Baseball Website and quite frankly, if a young man is sooooo fortunate to grace the front pages..........They have arrived!!!!!!!!
Your site has done more for, not just the Houston Area, but the entire state of "Texas Baseball" and for that I am truly grateful. I know for a fact, that it (and you) have influenced many a College Coach to consider a young prospect, because of your analysis, coverage et al. I look forward to seeing it every day and would be remiss if I did not tell you how much of an impact you have made on our lives. The coverage from all of your sources is invaluable to everyone who follows sports (much less baseball) in the Houston area. The "clones" would not have the ability to receive important information and take advantage of the many resources, without it. Are we to rely on the local paper? They are the HMO of HS Baseball. They try the best they can, but they are understaffed, underpaid and quite frankly do not have the resources to stay up with it all. Thanks to you, it not only gets done, but done with complete and utter professionalism! Keep up the good work! We look forward to another fantastic year of HS Baseball !!!!

_______

Randy,

I would just like to thank you guys from Houston 5A Baseball for the tremendous effort you put into your website. I am a Corpus Christi Moody fan and ex player and i enjoy following Texas high school baseball and I must say that without a doubt, you have the most comprehensive and informative site out there. You have done an excellent job in being fair and unbiased. Thank You...and keep up the great work!!!

_______

Randy,
Thanks for doing such a great job spotlighting Houston area high school baseball. I know that we look to your webpage to get more information than the local paper could ever hope to provide.

________

Randy,
I wanted to express my thanks to you in your enthusiasm and competence with your baseball website. I can tell by your All-City selections you took the time to do your homework. Again, great job this season.

______

Dear Mr. Byers,
Thank you for a great year of covering Houston 5A Baseball. I sincerely hope you keep the site again for next year. You have done wonders for Houston baseball. Thank you for your coverage of Southern Brazoria County and Gulf Coast High School Baseball. The people here appreciate it more than you know!!

_________

Mr. Byers,
We wanted to express our appreciation for the hard work you and your staff have done for Houston area kids. You have provided valuable information for people to share.

_______

Randy,
We really appreciate all you've done for high school baseball on the web site. We check it after each game night to see how all of our friends have done. You have done an outstanding job and once again, we appreciate you recognizing 4A also.

Mr. Byers
I just wanted to thank you for your outstanding coverage and the services you provide for Houston high school baseball fans and players. Keep up the good work.

_________

H5AB,
This season (our final H.S. season) has been the most enjoyable time we've had in 13 years of baseball. Your web sight added greatly to the enjoyment. I just wanted you guys to know how much we enjoyed the H5AB sight and how much we appreciate all you have done to improve the coverage of High School Baseball. No other sight comes close. I wish you the best of luck in the future.
