Soccer

St. John the Evangelist CYO Soccer offers four different programs: competitive soccer, noncompetitive soccer, kindergarten soccer and a spring soccer camp.

Competitive Soccer - age 6 -14
Competitive level soccer teams practice two evenings a week at nearby fields. Games are scheduled by the Archdiocesan CYO on weekends at available fields throughout Montgomery County. Players must be entering the respective grade in the fall to play soccer at that grade level (e.g., players on the grade 1 team must be entering grade 1 in the fall).

• Age 6 (7U -Grade 1): Coed teams play with four players on each team on a half field.
• Age 7 (8U - Grade 2): Single gender teams play with seven players on each team on a half field.
• Ages 8 - 9 (10U - typically Grades 3 and 4): Single gender teams play with seven players on each team on a half field.
• Ages 10 -12 (12U - typically Grades 5 and 6): Single gender teams play with eight players on each team on a 3/4 field.
* Ages 12 -14 (14U - typically Grades 7and 8): Single gender teams play with eleven players on each team on a full field.

Kindergarten Soccer
Kindergarten age players meet on Saturday mornings. The program focuses on teaching children basic soccer skills in a fun, low-impact environment and features skills demonstrations, simple drills, practice, and small-sided games.

Spring Soccer Camp: ages 4 - 10 (Grades K though 5)
This camp for grades K through 5 introduces new players to the sport and allows experienced players to polish their skills in a fun, low-impact environment. The camp features skills demonstrations, practice, small-sided games, and more. Players meet on Saturday mornings, usually at Flora Singer Elementary School fields, although this schedule and field location may change.
