Bob Zerfass, Manager- 60th year in the Blue Mountain League. "Zerf" and George Cobb founded the Royals in 1977. They were co-managers until 1988, when Cobb left to form the Northeastern Tigers also of the BML. Zerfass has been the manager for the past 35 years. Hellertown has won 7 BML championships during his tenure as manager (1978,1979,2005,2009,2010, 2011, 2012).
Zerf manages with a traditional, hard-working style of play; the classic "right way baseball should be played." He brings decades of experience and a commitment to winning and developing players to their best ability.
As a player, Zerfass began his career in 1963 with Johnson Post 855. The 1964 season was spent with Wind Gap. During the years 1965 to 1976, he played with the Bethlehem Cardinals. The Cardinals won 5 BML titles over that time. For the past 46 years, Zerfass has been a player manager for the Royals with 7 Championships.
As a pitcher, Zerfass had an overall record of 85 Wins - 20 Losses. During the years 1965-1976 he was 56-10. He won outstanding pitcher award in 1974.
