This year after much reflection and debate the Competition Committee decided to induct a 6th Honorary Inductee to the Hall of Fame.  This inductee was added not just for his stats (which happened to be really good), but for his attitude.  He won the League Christian Character Award in 2012, he endured several years of playing on a losing team only to end his career on the same team that proved to be victorious as Divisional Champs.  Congrats Jose Gonzalez.

TFFL Hall of Fame Consideration

In 2014 we will be a Competition Committee that will look at and discuss the considerations for the Timoteo Hall of Fame.  There will no longer be "Nominees," there will only be considerations.  A player will be able to be a part of considerations for up to 5 years (5 votes) or at the discretion of the CC.

The following criteria are needed for someone to be “nominated” for the Timoteo Hall of Fame. They do not need to fulfill all of the criteria, but if at least one of the criteria is met they are up for nomination.  Each year the Competition Committee will debate the criteria and new group of retired players worthy of Hall of Fame discussion.

 

1) They cannot be a current player.

 

2) They have a single season record.

 

3) They hold the career record in a stat.

 

4) They accomplish one of the following…

 

            a) 90 or more career Tackles.

 

            b) 100 or more career Catches

 

            c) 75 or more career TD Passes

 

            d) 20 or more career Sacks

 

            e) 20 or more career TDs

 

            f) 15 or more career INTs

 

            g) Threw 30 TD passes in a season

 

            h) 40 Tackles in a season

 

 i) 15 sacks in a season

 

j)  10 INTs in a  season

 

k) 15 TDs in a season

 

5) Could have been an instrumental player in helping a team get to and even win an Urban Bowl. Such as an Urban Bowl MVP, or MVP of the League.

 

6) They must be voted in as an “Inductee” by the Competition Committee.  The voting committee can also make exceptions and make nominations as well.

 

7) An “Inductee” is a player who has been nominated for the Hall of Fame and then voted into theHall of Fame by the Timoteo Competition Committee.

 

8) A “Nominee” is a player who has been selected as a possible Inductee of the Hall of Fame.  A Maximum of five Inductees are selected a year for the Hall of Fame.  A Nominee will remain a nominee for Induction for a maximum of five years.  If they have not been selected for the Hall of Fame within the five year period they will no longer be eligible for the Hall of Fame.  The Competition Committee can vote someone out of nomination if they come to a concensus that the person will not be able to make the Hall.  The Competition Committee can also elect "Honorary" Hall of Famers as they deem worthy.
