Transcona Railer Express
In September 2011, the former Transcona Junior Railers ceased operations after 34 years in existence. A group of 10 former Railer junior hockey players / alumni recognized this void in the community, formulated a business plan and made an application to the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League (MMJHL), to bring back a MMJHL hockey team to Transcona.
On Saturday, January 7, 2012 the MMJHL voted to accept a ‘new’ Transcona franchise for the 2012–13 season.
The non-profit board of directors of this Transcona Junior Hockey Club strives to create a positive, first class environment for young hockey players and fans of Junior Hockey in Transcona.
Our team mission statement is to “create a venue and opportunity for young players to foster their athletic skills as well as enhance their community spirit.” The team takes pride in the Transcona Community by providing a quality, affordable program for competitive hockey players who are continuing their education or beginning their careers.
One of the most important aspects of this program is he partnerships created in the community. We run more than just a hockey program; we run a community program benefitting both the participants of the club and the community as a whole. We are extremely pleased to have the following sponsors: Access Credit Union, Dal’s Restaurant, Goodfellow Realty, Grade A Millwork, Edge Corp Group, Odyssey Dental Group, Vickar Automotive Group, Genstar, Joe's Pandora Inn, Oakley Alarms, Tractus Projects and Connelly Signs. Our sponsors truly have similar beliefs and work in partnership to enhance and strengthen our community.
The Transcona ‘RAILER EXPRESS’ Junior Hockey Club is excited to involve 34 years of alumni and the community as a whole in providing a quality program to be part of and proud of for years to come.
