HAPPY NEW YEAR

The Trojans’ back-to-back set against the Tigers can best be described as a before and after picture - except the “before” involved ice packs, bruises, and a few guys reconsidering their life choices.

Friday night was… not ideal. The Tigers came out like they’d been shot out of a cannon, and the Trojans spent most of the night trying to survive a full-on jungle ambush. The scoreboard got ugly, bodies got sore, and the injury list got longer than a rinkside Starbucks order. One of those games where the best highlight is the final buzzer.

Tuesday, however, was a completely different animal. The Trojans decided if they were going down, it wasn’t going to be quietly or gently. This one was a straight-up, old-school, knuckles-rattling physical battle.

Special shoutout to Dillon Henderson, who played like a wall of doom. Opponents were bouncing off him like shopping carts off a concrete pillar. Guys just hitting him and sliding down in a slow, confused heap, wondering what went wrong with their plan.

Not to be outdone, Colin Rosset brought big physical energy all night. When asked about his size and strength, Colin credited his dad (also known as Coach Dan) for years of “conditioning” disguised as community service. Apparently hauling 50-pound bags of potatoes at the Rotary Club vegetable fundraiser to people’s cars builds character… and forearms of steel.

And it doesn’t stop there. Rumor has it Coach Dad also buys a couple of those 50 pounders for home, which Colin must carry upstairs every single time Mom gets a craving for baked potato soup - and mom loves her soup! There are many stairs. Colin has legs like oak trees for a reason. Thanks mom?!

On the scoring front, Rylan Toupin once again fueled the ongoing mystery known as “I score multiple goals when my dad isn’t watching.” With Dad reportedly absent, Rylan lit it up - sparking fresh rumors that his dad was busy dropping loonies at the Crystal City Casino like it was a broken vending machine that just might pay out if you shake it hard enough.

All in all it was:
One game to forget.
One game to remember.
A lot of bruises.
A lot of potatoes.
And one dad who might want to stay away on game nights - just in case.
